Heal
starting back
CD/ sound on ProbationAfter a silence of close to seven years, here is the second album by Heal, the most "musical" project by Laurent Perrier.( Zonk't )
If "Extend”, the first album has been compared to the dark dub of first Scorn albums and DJ Krush, "starting back" keeps its recipe of bass & drums, creating a groove with fearfull efficiency and strength, but offers us a more homogeneous and fresh album, leaving the rock spirit of the first album behind to flirt with the style of "nu-jazz", "abstract hip-hop", "electronic dub", "film noir" soundtrack and "pop electronic".
Fifteen tracks with structured and precise compositions, catchy tunes (recalling from time to time a certain William Orbit), now and then nostalgic, festive, something between sampling work and orchestration, mixing synthesizer, trumpet, xylophone and organ… the result is a complex, at the same time bright and brilliant piece of work.
